My students come from varied socio-economic backgrounds. Almost 50% qualify for the free and reduced-price lunch program and speak a language other than English at home. My goal is to help these students prepare for college and the competitive real world. My students enjoy working in small groups, and I try to create as many opportunities for them to share with one another as possible. Collaboration is crucial to the students' learning process as it is engaging and ensures that they are participating and learning in class. As we move away from state standards and towards Common Core, students will be required to collaborate and engage in conversation. This will be made possible through technology.
