We are a very small rural elementary school in North Carolina where technology is a growing component of our school system. Unfortunately, whole classrooms are benefitting first from monies spent on technology. There are whole carts of laptops that can be checked out from the library, but why tie up a whole cart from a classroom when a small group of learners in the EC setting might need only a few? As the only EC teacher in the whole school, my assistant and I are revolving doors trying to meet the needs of our Kindergarten through 5th grade students every day let alone link their academic learning to the technology they so desperately need.
