My students are eager to learn but don't necessarily have the most ideal backgrounds. Most of them come from a low-income household so they don't have much and parents don't necessarily have time to help students with their schoolwork. That's where my classroom and I come in. Math is not always the favorite subject around, but in my class, students learn to love it. If not love, at least like it a little bit more. :) We do many hands-on activities throughout the year and build our interactive journals. My students also learn to work as a team and end the year knowing how to work with different people.
