My school is a great institution and tries to provide as many resources as possible for our students. With that said, my school is challenged by budgetary constraints, therefore, there is no additional funding I can that can benefit our school. Although most of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, they possess a great desire to learn and succeed. My kids are smart and realize that education will be the determining factor in their future. As a teacher/librarian, I try to instill the desire to seek as much knowledge as possible. I use literacy as my vehicle to challenge students and encourage them not to give up when "life happens".
