Our final unit this year focuses on literature circles. Students get to pick a text to read and analyze. They will focus on applying the different analytical skills learned over the course of the year to the text they select. I want students to develop a love of reading. I have selected high interest books that will hopefully encourage students to seek out other books when finished with the lit circles. Students will be put in groups based on the text they select. Together in their small groups, student will read and analyze the text. They will discuss the themes and the connections to their own life experiences. Students will get a change to apply the critical thinking skills to a text that they are interested in.
