My students attend a school with over twenty-two nations represented and twenty-nine languages spoken. We value our diverse community and understand that students learn at varied rates. Most of the students live within a mile of the school and it is the center of the neighborhood. The school is a community center so in addition to the school, the building houses an indoor pool, community policing station, recreation center, gym, and book nook (formally a branch library). There is a school garden in which students plant vegetables that turn into lunch at the cafeteria. The school also has a weather station was installed on the roof with an indoor monitor showing the temperature, rainfall amount, etc.
