The mats will be used twice a week during a segmented time in 2hr block schedules during my health class. These mats will be the sitting stage for practicing stress relieving and focusing techniques as well as learning about mindfulness. Increased mental health problems of adolescents are addressed in this approach to students' daily lives. It is important to consider how stress affects our students as they achieve and teach them how to MANAGE STRESS for continued MOTIVATION and FOCUS. Real life stressful situations and scenarios are combined with real life skills in my class and the techniques the students learn will help them find inner peace, calm, and joy as they ACHIEVE higher educational dreams.
