My students are a truly diverse mix. Some black, some brown, some white. Some of them have only recently started speaking English. Others have parents who are English professors. Most are low-income like the west side neighborhood that our school is located in. But others commute over from a wealthier neighborhood because they've heard great things about our school. Our school is a public charter school that focuses on science. Some students come here because they are inspired to aim for the international science fair, others pick up a beaker for the first time when they come to our school. All of them are great.
