My enthusiastic 6th graders come to school every day ready to learn in English and in Spanish. Our school is located in the South Bronx and the majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Most are the children of Latin American immigrants and some are recent immigrants themselves. Although their outside lives are not always easy, my students never fail to impress me with their resiliency, humor, and determination.
