I work in a Title 1 school where the population is 85% free and reduced lunch. I have the most amazing, creative, funny, anxious, curious students for whom the feeling of community is crucial. Shared reading and read-alouds are crucial for expression and comprehension. Choosing books that are intriguing and fun spark questions, conversations, and debates. Too many students today watch the movies but don't read the books-- time to change that!

About my class
