These requests for resources will directly relate to helping students to continue both their social-emotional and academic learning in light of COVID-19 by allowing my students the flexibility and choice of non-traditional seating, writing, and listening needs. Non-traditional seating allows my students to move, and rock to help keep their focus, exert excess energy and perform better on their academics. During COVID-19 my students were at-home learning this allowed them to choose what type of seating they wanted such as a dining room chair, office chair, standing, laying on their beds, sitting on their couch, etc. Now that my students are back in school they struggle with sitting for extended periods of time on plastic student chairs. The ability to get up and move at will during at-home learning has made it very difficult for my students to go back to remaining in their seats without movement. The resources I am requesting will help my students with this difficult transition in light of COVID-19.
