Phonemic instruction is an essential skill in developing fluent readers. It's the ability to identify and manipulate individual sounds without any printed text. The requested manipulatives will be used to create a hands-on approach to this learning. The students will take apart, replace, and segment words using counters, poppers, springs, and stampers. It is vital we then connect those individual sounds to print using phonics instruction. There are power points I would like to purchase on Teacher Pay Teacher for repetitive phonics instruction and the erasable pads will provide quick and effective student practice making learning fun and hands-on.
