I have the average tenth grader. They attend a public high school, where they strive for attention. Many are involved in several extracurricular activities. However, they are lacking in one particular area, comprehension. They struggle on standardized test and reading passages do to the fact they do not understand more complex words. Many times they know the subject and can tell you about it, but there is one or two important word that determines what thy question is specifically asking you. I would like to see and improvement to their vocabulary so that they are better able to show the knowledge they have obtained.
