When my students are in small group activity centers, they are busy. They are using manipulatives, working together, and problem solving. As a teacher I can also have the time to meet with each student to reteach or enrich their individual learning. Having small centers helps me reach my students individually -even with a large class. With these materials I can add to our activity centers and make them work better for my students. Bean bags will give my students a comfy place to read around our class library. Wobble chairs around our horse-shoe table will be a place to meet and work together. Snap boxes and K'nex will allow for exploring simple machines. A pocket chart will help keep everyone moving and organized.
