The students who would be benefiting from this laptop attend a Title One elementary school in an inner-city where 90% of the students live below the poverty line. I work with the special education students who require speech and language services. This population of students has deficits in the areas of receptive and expressive language, articulation errors, disfluencies, and a variety of other disorders related to speech and language skills. Despite their deficits my students are expected to compete and succeed in a technology driven world. Not only do my students face the challenge of overcoming their speech/language impairments, they also have to overcome the shortage of technology available to them. This is why we are asking for help!

About my class
