My students are from various economic backgrounds. Our school is a rural school with only one class per grade level in K through 5th grades. Some of them lack exposure to reading in the home and need to be able to listen to appropriate grade level text. Many of my students need extra support in basic skills necessary to be successful with California standards that are required for kindergarten.
