What I love about my students is their excitement and eagerness to learn every single day. I work at a Title I School with more than 80% of my students getting free lunch, 30% are ELL, and 55% are special education. This makes for an incredibly dynamic classroom. These students are challenged with unthought of responsibilities outside of the school setting. Often times the classroom is their safe place to be. It is the place they can count on to be loved, have a friendly smile, and hot meal for them every day no matter what. The classroom is a place where we all become family. We all belong and there is no judgment. School is so much more important than just learning your ABC's; it's about creating a family and being in a safe place.
