My class is a diverse, fun-loving, class of 5th grade learners in a public school. In my class alone we speak over eight languages! My students range from students who have been at the school since Kindergarten and those brand new to the school and country. I have a student brand new to the country who speaks almost no English and several students who read at the 1st-3rd grade level. Our class has a focus on literacy thanks to our teacher's love of reading (ever since he picked up the Phantom Tollbooth in 2nd grade) and our newish English Language Arts curriculum Inquiry by Design.
