Young learners need engaging and hands on experiences to enhance learning. Come Alive Journals delivers both of these experiences to my students writing. For instance it gives them positive reinforcement and feedback and adds creativity by having their writing come to life though Apps that make their print and figures interactive on the Ipad. Students will develop writing skills with Come Alive Journals by enhancing their opportunity to write and interact with print using technology, interactive journals and writing tools. They will be able to incorporate both reading and writing by having technology bring their writing to life and interact with them on the Ipad from their journals. Students will not only be able to form letters with a writing tool they will be able to use their fingers to physical form letters as well and hear the letter sound. They can also see pictures representing the letter which will pop out of the pages to the Ipad for them to interact with. Each student will be able to write about a new letter and learn its sound and formation. The journals will encourage student engagement and interactive experiences in the classroom. The student will be able to add their own creativity in their journals and develop ideas to increase their writing potential. Using these journals each student will develop a positive and emotional growth in literacy by developing skills that will improve their ability to communicate using print.
