My students are amazing! They range in ages from 5-8 years old, and each of them have their own unique strengths and challenges when it comes to learning. Many of them have significant medical, physical, intellectual, and communicative disabilities that make learning in a typical fashion difficult. They come from various ethnic/cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Our classroom strives to be an inclusive learning environment that is tailored to their specific "Individualized Education Plan" goals, while providing ample opportunities to participate with the entire school community as much as possible. We are part of a urban school community that has approximately 500 general education students, and 70 students in the special education programs.
