My students come from a tight-knit, small community that highly values education. The school I teach at is a LAP school, where a large percentage of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Within our boundaries is also a military housing complex. This recent addition to our school population has added diversity and a multitude of cultures that our students, staff, and community have benefited from. First graders are full of energy and eager to explore and learn. Keeping them engaged and entertained is a constant challenge. I hope to be able to provide the tools to help students remain involved and interested in their learning and education.
