Many students take for granted that they have access to technology because their families possess monetary means in which such is provided. To address this issue with the students in my school, STEM can help provide technological gadgets such as graphing calculators and chrome notebook in order to close the equity gap. By having access to graphing calculators, they can thereby practice using it at home and thereby become more proficient in using it. Some of these students have IEPs and to have access to graphing calculators is considered a scaffold. In addition, having access to laptops will afford students to work on their classwork and homework assignments more efficiently. For example, Microsoft Word has a grammar and spell check to help students with their writing mechanism. This would enhance the quality of their work.
