My students are an amazing group of second graders in a high-needs school in rural Michigan. I have a class of 27 students with a wide variety of emotional and academic needs. My classroom is hands-on and brains-on as we incorporate brain-based movement and strategies daily. Focus is necessary for maintaining motivation and learning. These balance balls can help! Last year, my students and I wrote a grant together for a small supply of balance balls for our classroom. The students absolutely loved them and begged for more, as we did not have enough for each student to use one daily. They've been so generous and gracious with sharing the balance balls, and I have seen the results that these balls have on student learning. My goal is to inspire my students to believe in themselves and become lifelong learners. They have made my life brighter, and I would like to brighten theirs in return by being able to provide each student with their own balance ball to use in the classroom!
