I want to bring the world of math to life to my students. The most efficient way to do this is through the use of technology and even more specifically the iPad. I want to help my students be able to visualize math and see the relevance through real world application. The iPad will allow me to engage my students by being able to display things that I can not do just using the Elmo.
The iPad will allow my students and I to address many of the content standards like F-IF where we are able to use technology to compare linear, quadratic and exponential functions. My students do not have access to graphing calculators, but through the iPad I can share those experiences with them.
I plan to use the iPad not only to provide the visualization of mathematical concepts, but also to be able to more effectively share with students my lessons and notes from classes. Especially for students on quarantine the ability to watch a taped lesson will allow them to feel less alone and more apart of the classroom experience. The Ipad also provides me a chance to move around the room while teaching and provide 1-1 instruction to students who are struggling while continuing to engage the entire class.
