Hello and welcome to our classroom page! My name is Joey Denoncourt, better known as "Mr. D." to my students. This is my first year at College View Elementary, but I have taught in Denver Public Schools for four years as a bilingual educator with a background in Spanish linguistics. With this move comes a new work space, a lot of new ideas, and most importantly - new students! I am teaching 2nd Grade to both English- and Spanish-speaking students, an "E/S" classroom. Some students are native English speakers. Some are native Spanish speakers. Some know a little of both, and there are even some who speak other languages at home. These talented students will be supported with strategies targeted at their specific language development level and needs to ensure they progress in all subject areas. I am excited to begin a new journey and look forward to a great school year! I appreciate your help and support along the way!
