My students are a diverse group of learners from a working class community in a Missouri public school. I'll be teaching English Language Arts to 17 and 18 year olds. Through the reading and writing the students will do in my classes, they should be prepared for the next step in their career path whether that's college, technical training, or work. The power of proficient literacy is vital for a democratic society. My goal is to enable students to see their literacy improve, enjoy reading, and be able to write in different methods and for different audiences.
