We make it our goal to make sure everyone feels safe to learn and excited about being at school. My school is in a high poverty area and 17% of my students come from other countries than the United States and are enrolled in our ELL program. Many of these students are refugees from the country of Burma. Others originate from Central America or Africa. Many of my students are unable to afford necessary school supplies. Our school is at a Free and Reduced Lunch rate of 75%. My students are in 9th grade, I have some repeating Algebra that are older than 9th grade. All are and in need of seeing that Algebra class can be used in a real word setting.
