Although my district is 100% free lunch, my kids are still hungry because they do not get seconds and don't have money to pay for an extra meal. This microwave will be used to make breakfast and lunch items for my kids so they can focus on learning instead of being hungry. I buy food with my own money such as instant oatmeal, grits, noodles, soup, burritos and things that are easy to prepare and quick for them to eat. I feed many of them before they go home because they will not have food provided to them. We all understand Maslow's hierarchy of needs and that without basic needs being met, students will be unable to be successful in their learning environment.
