I work with students at a Title I school who are mainly from a low socio-economic class. Fifty percent of these students are English-as-a-Second-Language learners. They are students who are excited about learning. They remind me of sponges soaking up water - they want to learn everything they can because they will take this knowledge back to their homes and teach it to their parents and other family members.
