My students are fantastic! They come from countries such as China, Kenya, Sudan, Somalia, Saudi Arabia and Albania this year. My students are from refugee and immigrant families. Many of the students or their families have lived in refugee camps before coming to the United States. Our school is located in an urban area. Fifty percent of the students in our school are English language learners, including my entire class. The students in my class are from extremely low income families. The families are great and want the best for their students and to have educational opportunities that many of them did not have growing up.
