Adding more technology to the classroom will allow the students to expand access to new material and use more technology in the classroom. Many of my students do not have internet access at home, so as a school we are working to bring internet access and technology to the classroom whenever we can. This is important for my students to compete in the 21st century. Currently we are working with a small amount of Chromebooks in our classroom. We want to get as many of them into the school as possible. This is vital to preparing our students and connecting them with others across the country and the globe. We plan on using these two HP Chromebooks for interactive lesson plans, including online games that allow students to first-hand experience social studies-related material. We also are working to set-up e-portfolios using Google Drive. All of these will allow for growing as a student and preparing them for understanding social studies curriculum once they leave our school.
