My students live in a very low socio-economic part of the city. Over 80% of our students are English Language Learners and we are one of the most frequented school for Newcomers into California. At home my students struggle to have basic needs meet, let alone being supported in their academic needs. In my classroom, I want my students to be successful. I want them to have access to books for fun and learning. Another way that I support them is by providing opportunities to learn in a safe, enriching environment.
