My students are great and have a strong desire to grow, but we live in an area hit hard by the housing bubble. Jobs are scarce for many uneducated parents and many students are in transition between homes. Many of our students receive financial assistance for the basics. Their access to technology is limited to my classroom or the occasional trip the local library. Whether financial strain or broken homes, many parents struggle to balance work and the crucial support at home so necessary for academic success. Differentiated instruction is very important to meet the diverse levels of student capabilities and learning needs. As is the case in many school districts across the US, our school's budget is stretched to the max so teacher salaries continue to be paid. Tough choices are made that leaves our school with old, often broken computers that frustrate more than inspire! My students are bright, ambitious, and motivated! Technology inspires them to test their limits and capabilities
