I am a Spanish Literacy Intervention teacher. I help students develop proficient reading skills that will contribute to their academic growth. I work extensively with students to help them improve specific reading skills such as letter-naming, initial sounds, phoneme segmentation, and comprehension strategies. I address the specific needs of a particular child when regular classroom instruction is not sufficient. I work with the teacher to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each child. I am requesting a two screen monitor for my distance learning guided reading groups. This will help me to show the book on one screen and be able to see the students in the other. The two screen will help so much in the learning of my students! It is my passion to teach reading (and writing) to beginner readers. It is my favorite part of the day at school. I love the happy connections of books, the times when, the lightbulb moments, when something makes sense, and opening a new world to my students. That's why I'm teaching.
