I teach 35 fifth graders in a lower economic neighborhood. Most of my students are second language learners who do the best they can with what they have in school and at home. My class is sweet, considerate, eager to learn, respect education and know they have a job to do when they enter the classroom. Many came into fifth grade reading below grade level and a handful are in danger of retention, but I know with hard work and dedication ALL will be moving on.
