Many of my students do not have reliable internet or computers or tablets at home. Our group activities are mainly in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We have appreciation for and curiosity about our natural environment and would like to share what we learn with a wider audience and apply and extend what we learn here to the world beyond our island. We have no actual classroom. When it rains (Its a rainforest here!) we work in a tent or in a borrowed classroom. Portable technology including a camera, an iPad, a computer and a projector would enable us to take our observations with us and research and learn about what we observe. When we have access to a room on rainy days, we can share and extend our learning.
