Kenwood Academy is a urban high school in Chicago Public Schools that is experiencing the economic crunch to educate a majority African American student population. The faculty is struggling to provide rigorous curricula to inner city kids without funding from Chicago Public Schools. We are located in the affluent Kenwood/Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, right down the street from President Obama's house, but struggles to have adequate working computers and basic supplies to educate our children.
