Half of my class is between well below grade level to below grade level. I have thirty students in my class. I teach fourth grade. These students that are well below and below grade level have some serious needs. Several of them cannot read or do simple math facts. Others struggle with reading and simple math facts. I would like my students to practice what I am teaching them on the iPad with the many varied mathematics and reading apps that are available. There are many apps on the iPad that could give my students quality practice time in school that they cannot receive anywhere else. My students need this practice time to help them with their reading and math. I worry about my students so much that if I can't get them to grade level in reading and math, it will adversely affect them for the rest of their lives. My students do not have the support systems they need outside of school to help them adequately enough to practice what they are being taught at school in the home.
