Visiting my classroom is almost like visiting the United Nations! In addition to learning English, my students speak a variety of languages at home including Arabic, Chinese and Spanish. They are eager, expectant, joyful learners who love doing hands-on activities. My students attend an urban elementary school, and the majority of the class qualifies for free breakfast and lunch, which is an indicator of high poverty.
