We wasted no time and immediately began using the plastic pouches! Students use plastic pouches to keep all of their subject materials neatly organized and easy to access throughout the day. For example, during phonics, each pouch holds whiteboards, markers, erasers, and notebooks, so everything students need is in one place. During Wit & Wisdom time, students keep all of their ELA materials together in a single pouch, making it quick and easy to grab and go. \r\n\r\nBecause the pouches are securely zipped, materials no longer get lost, and loose papers stay safely inside. These pouches are also much more durable than Ziploc bag. Truly kid-proof! Through these books, students develop a deeper understanding of why people move and how immigration impacts individuals and families in different ways. Their learning is enriched beyond the core curriculum texts as they encounter new voices, stories, and viewpoints, which helps foster empathy and critical thinking. These discussions encourage students to consider multiple perspectives and better understand the complexity of immigration experiences.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, students are able to make meaningful connections across topics and texts. These connections help students synthesize information and see patterns across historical and social contexts.\r\n\r\nFinally, the joy of learning and reading continues as students engage with high‑interest, meaningful texts.
