The students at my school are sweet and eager to learn. They need teachers to engage and motivate them to be the best learners they can be. In my district, music teachers get a budget every year to expand their instruments and materials, but it is very limited. A friend who is also a teacher clued me in to Donor's Choose, and it has been such a wonderful help in getting the items my students need for a well rounded education. I believe in exposing the students to lots of different musical experiences- from simple music theory, technology, composing, improvising, dancing, to just having fun learning! It is my hope that this inspires them to be motivated to not only be a great learner in music, but also in their other content areas like reading, math, and writing. I truly think that music makes us smarter. Music makes us problem solvers and helps us learn how to self access and learn from our mistakes.
