My students are 10 year old fifth graders from diverse backgrounds. Many have difficult challenges in their home lives due to low family income and single parent households. Only some have computers in their homes and opportunities to visit the local community library. A number of them are reading below their grade level and will need to work hard this year so they can make progress in literacy. All of my students show interest in good stories, and a desire to succeed in school.

About my class
