My second grade students come to school eager and ready to learn. They do not ask for much, since they come from a high poverty area. This is evident in the large percentage of students that receive free lunch. Students also come to school with little background knowledge about life. Our school wants to fill in those gaps and provide our students with many life experiences and skills to prepare them to be successful in the 21st century.
