My students are amazing! They overcome issues such as poverty, homelessness, a gang-ridden community, racism, family issues, foster homes, and the challenges of adolescence! They all persevere and try their best to be successful. Unfortunately, the lack of materials is disheartening. My students deserve the opportunities the other districts have! If they overcome so many obstacles, and are eager to learn, why are they not being given the best materials to do so! I try to buy materials such as whiteboards, learning games, etc., but I just cannot afford to buy everything I think they deserve!
