I teach at an inner city school where the majority of the students are on free and reduced meal plans. They don't get to experience all of the latest toys and gadgets like so many other students throughout the country. They look forward to coming to school to escape some of the stress they face at home. My students are energetic and full of life. My first graders are striving to be independent and prove that they are no longer "babies."
