Art is important because it reaches across all subjects and ages. Art leaves NO child behind. As an art teacher,I teach all of the students in my school.I consider this a huge privilege because I get to reach out to a vast number of children with different interests and personalities. Although the children I teach are very different, they all get very excited when they get to work with new materials. They definitely get tired of drawing and coloring. So I try to create projects that are new and exciting so that my students will be engaged in what I am teaching them. But, with the decreasing budgets in school systems across the country, it is hard to give my students the opportunity to work with new and interesting materials because it is expensive. That is why donors choose is such a wonderful program. Because it gives teachers a chance to get their dream projects funded so we can give our students the best!
