Nearly all my students have English as their second language. The great thing about this population is they are very motivated to learn. They are well-behaved and have family support at home, although sometimes not academic support due to the language barrier. Most need things read aloud in English, and because they are on different levels, the computers help reading adapted questions to them. They need visual, hands-on instruction with immediate feedback and support, and virtual activities serve this purpose. Some need instruction in Spanish, and again the Internet provides instructional videos to these newcomers. I have set up resources on a website for every topic I teach in English and Spanish.
