We are one of the poorer school districts in Montgomery county. Our students are 80% free/reduced lunch and come from low income households. They do not have many opportunities to experience things outside of their hometown. Our school is trying not only to educate the students academically but also educate them in the real world. Giving them a chance to experience physical education can help them establish themselves as athletes that might help them stay off the streets, learn how to set/achieve goals, learn to be part of team and possibly receive scholarships that will help them get to college. We are trying to build not only better students but better people who have good character, morals and values and a big part of this can be accomplished through physical education.

About my class
