70% of my class are refugee students. They are new to America. Most do not speak English. I must have lots of hands on and visual materials to teach them. I rely heavily on learning centers to teach/reinforce English language learning. It is very sad that schools of this nature do not have the resources available like some of the suburban schools in this same district. I desire that my classroom be a warm and inviting environment for my students so that I can maximize their learning experience. Some of the are encountering a school setting for the first time in their lives.

About my class
