The supplies I've requested may seem like an odd list for a 4th grade teacher. However, these supplies will make up a kit for my students to use teamwork and brain-work to learn the problem-solving skills necessary to accomplish a task. The idea for this comes from a website called Breakout EDU. It is an immersive learning game where students solve problems in order to unlock the locks on a box. The games can be tied to any subject and a variety of different-sized groups. The students will also learn perseverance and creativity. The website, Breakoutedu.com, calls it the Four C's: critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication.
